Xerox error 116-324

A software "exception failure", usually caused by a corrupt print job that the printer cannot process.

Seen on: VersaLink C7000 and C7020/C7025/C7030, also reported on WorkCentre models. The same code can mean something else on other models.

How to fix it

  1. Turn the printer off, unplug its network cable, and turn it back on. If the error is gone, a bad job caused it.
  2. Clear the print queue on every computer that prints to it, then plug the network cable back in.
  3. In the Windows print driver, turn off advanced features (Printing Preferences > Advanced) and print again.
  4. Still failing: uninstall the print driver, download the latest one from Xerox support for your exact model, and reinstall it.
  5. Reload or update the printer firmware through the printer's web page (Embedded Web Server).

Is it worth fixing?

A software fault, not broken hardware. A clean driver and current firmware fix it in most cases.
