Xerox error 016-503

The printer cannot find the e-mail server by name, so it cannot send scans or e-mail.

Seen on: WorkCentre and ApeosPort models. The same code can mean something else on other models.

How to fix it

1. In the printer's web page, check the DNS server addresses in the TCP/IP settings.
2. Check the SMTP (016-503) or POP3 (016-504) server name is spelled correctly.
3. As a test, enter the mail server's IP address instead of its name.
