Canon error 1700
The ink absorber (a sponge pad that catches waste ink from cleaning) is almost full.
How to fix it
- Press OK or Stop to keep printing for now.
- Plan for service: the absorber has to be replaced by Canon or a repair shop.
- Run fewer print head cleanings, since each one sends ink into the absorber.
Is it worth fixing?
You can still print for a while. When it is full the printer stops with 5B00, and on a cheap inkjet that service often costs more than a new printer.
