Canon error B200
The printer detected an electrical fault in the print head or its connection. It stops completely to protect itself.
How to fix it
- Turn the printer off and unplug it from the wall for at least 10 minutes, then plug it in and turn it on.
- Open the cover, take out every ink cartridge, then lift the print head lock lever and remove the print head.
- Wipe the gold contacts on the print head and inside the carriage with a dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use water.
- Put the print head back, lower the lever firmly, and reinstall the cartridges until each one clicks.
- Turn the printer on. If B200 comes back, the print head or the main board has failed.
Is it worth fixing?
A new print head usually costs more than half the price of a new printer. On a printer older than four years, replacing the printer is normally the better deal.
