Printing blank pages
The printer feeds paper but nothing lands on it. On inkjets the nozzles are usually dried or the cartridge is empty; on lasers the toner is empty or the seal was not removed.
How to fix it
- Check ink or toner levels and replace anything empty.
- On a new cartridge, make sure all the protective tape and the seal are removed.
- Inkjet: run the print head cleaning from the printer menu once or twice, then print a nozzle check page.
- Laser: take the toner out, rock it gently side to side, and put it back.
- Print a test page from the printer itself. If that prints, the problem is the driver or the document, not the printer.
Is it worth fixing?
Usually fixable. An inkjet left unused for months may have a clogged head that needs replacing.
