Epson error Ink cartridge cannot be recognized
The printer cannot read the chip on one or more ink cartridges.
How to fix it
- Open the scanner unit and press down on every cartridge until it clicks.
- Take out the cartridge named on the screen, check the yellow tape is fully removed, and wipe the green chip gently with a dry cloth.
- Put it back, close the unit and turn the printer off and on.
- If it is a third-party cartridge, an Epson firmware update may have blocked it. Try a genuine cartridge to confirm.
Is it worth fixing?
A cartridge problem, not a printer fault.
